Single Parents Pursuing Christ

Mission Statement: The Mission and vision of Single Parents Pursuing Christ is to be the hands and feet of Jesus, changing the trajectory of single-parent homes through intentional activation of the church to provide practical support, hope and the love of Jesus—because no one is meant to it alone.

Why have a single Parent Ministry:

  • Nearly a quarter of U.S. Children (23%) live with only one parent and no other adults- more than three times the global average of 7% (Pew Research)
  • In 2020, there were approximately 19 million children under 18 living with a single parent, compared to 15 million with two parents.
  • Single- mother households account for nearly 80-85 % of the single parent homes.
  • Single-parent families face disproportionately higher levels of poverty.
  • Financial challenges for these families include; food insecurity in 1/3 of them and 40% facing housing insecurity.
  • Children from single parent homes are over twice as likely to be arrested as juveniles, treated for behavioral or emotional problems, and be expelled or suspended from schools and face a 33% increased risk of dropping out of high school.
  • These children face a 26% higher likelihood of emotional instability.

Single Parents Pursuing Christ Ministry is dedicated to changing that narrative.

Our mission is to build a Christ-centered support network that uplifts, empowers, and equips single-parent families to thrive—spiritually, emotionally, and practically. We do this by connecting families who are spiritually and emotionally strong with those who are currently struggling, fostering mentorship, community, and accountability.

Through prayer, discipleship, and practical support, we aim to help single parents:

  • Break generational cycles of poverty and instability
  • Strengthen their faith and parenting skills
  • Build supportive relationships within the body of Christ

Together, we believe that no parent should walk alone—and no child should be limited by their family structure. With God’s help and the power of church and community, single parents can overcome statistics and create a legacy of hope, strength, and faith.
